Is my Wudhu valid if my bleeding gums don’t stop during Wudhu?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
As- salam alaikum,
My question is that I constantly have a problem of bleeding gums, and they usually bleed when I perform Wudhu and the bleeding doesn’t stop for quite some time,is my Wudhu still valid? or how long shall I wait to perform Wudhu-JazakAllah

It would depend on how much blood has been released. If more blood is apparent in the saliva, then wudhu has broken, however vice versa and the wudhu is intact.

We would advise that you visit your dentist for advice, as many times the gums bleed because of anomalies. They can advice you how to relieve those complications.

A ma’zur is one who bleeds continuously from a wound etc, or an illness causes the urine to drip continuously, and once cannot complete the prayer in purity, before the time for Salaah elapses. This person classed as a Ma’zur can make wudhu and pray in this condition and until the salaah time finishes, the wudhu is intact. Qur’aan can be prayed and any number of Salaah canbe offered in this time, whether that be Fardh, Sunnah or Nafil etc.

One thing to remember however, is that the condition which makes the person ma’zur does not break that wudhu in the prayer time allocation as described above, however if for example one had to go to the toilet, break wind, or one’s finger is pricked by a needle then Wudhu breaks.

For further rules of Ma’zoor, please refer to Beheshti Zewar, or consult a reliable, local scholar.
