2) The commentary on Surah Ma’idah verse 47 (5:47):
Allah Ta’ala says,
“Let the people of the Injeel (Gospel) judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed (then) such (people) are the Fasiqun (the rebellious i.e.disobedient) to Allah.”
Commentary:
This verse of the Quran is referring to those Christians who were present during the revelation of Injeel or during the revelation of the Quran, not to the Christians of today. Allah Ta’ala orders them to, “Judge by what Allah has revealed therein”. In other words do not judge by what the human hands have written but only by what Allah Ta’ala has revealed i.e. about the last Prophet etc.
In addition, the people of Torah (Jews) altered the Torah (old Testament) and the people of Injeel (Christians) made changes in Injeel (Gospel), they have disfigured them to the extent that it has become impossible to distinguish truth from untruth.
Allah Ta’ala has revealed the Quran which confirms the Torah and Injeel, books previous to it, and is their custodian as well. It was the Quran which turned out as the overseer and protector which exposed the alterations made by them, lit up truth and reality in their proper perspective. Verily, the true teachings of the Torah and Injeel still survive through the Quran.
Allah Ta’ala says,
“And We have sent down to you (O Muhammad ) the Book (this Qur’an) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and Mohayminan (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over it (old Scriptures). So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging away from the truth that has come to you. To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way. If Allah willed, He would have made you one nation, but that (He) may test you in what He has given you; so strive as in a race in good deeds. The return of you (all) is to Allah; then He will inform you about that in which you used to differ.” (5:48)

Allah Ta’ala says,
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” (3:85)
