Differences between mani and mazi, necessity of ghusl and washing for wudu after mazi?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Respected mufti saheb please help me with the following:
1. Please can you explain in as much detail as possible all the differences between mani and mazi such as colour stickiness etc
2. Sometimes upon awakening i do not feel any wetness but notice a very small bit of whiteness on my clothes which is not sticky. What would this be and is ghusl wajib?
3. If mazi comes out only wudu is necessary but do you have to wash the private part first?
Jazakallahu Khairun

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)

1) ‘Mazi’ (pre-coital fluid), is a thin clear liquid which is discharged at the time of arousal without ejaculation and it can be released without one being aware of it. This necessitates Whudu on emission.

‘Mani’ (Sperm), is a white thick fluid which is discharged at the time of ejaculation. The Mani of a woman is thin and yellow. This necessitates a Ghusl on emission.

‘Wadi’, is a white cloudy thick fluid which has no smell and is discharged either before or after urinating. This necessitates Whudu on emission.

(Hashiat Tahtawi Pg. 100)

2) Yes, Ghusl will be Wajib.

3) Yes, wash your private part and then perform Wudhu.

And Only Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
