Sayin Salaam

We say “Assalamualaikum” before talking.
But somepeople reply “Wassalamualaikum” and somepeople reply “Wa-alaikumus Salam”. I use to say second one. Which one is right?

Bismihi Ta’ala

The second one is more correct. However, there is no harm in the former either, as the meaning is sound.
