Is my Salaah valid if I didn’t do istinjaa or clean my clothes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Assalamu Alaikum,

I have a problem. Alhamdulillah I am doing my Salaah now with right wudhu and everything InshAllah, but before when I did Salaah for a period of maybe one or two months (I’m not sure) I wasn’t completely sure if I was a ma’thur and I was confused on the ruling regarding discharge and the validity of one’s wudhu. Thus when I was away from home and performing Dhuhr Salaah, due to the diffiulty in performing Istinjaa, I just did wudhu and did Salaah. After some time of learning, I realised that the area soiled must be cleaned and wudhu is invalidated if discharge is visible if it is not clear. Thus my question is: I s my salaah valid on the basis hat I performed my wudhu but did not do istinjaa or cean my clothes. I was not 100% at time perhps if I experienced discharge and if I did whther it was clear, but due to my normal experience I can say that I normally would have discharge If I didn’t perform istinjaa for that period of timke when I was away from home.

Also I am not sure if this occured any time after, i.e I have normally always performed my Salaah Alhamdulillah, but apart from that period of time stated above I’m not sure if there has been similar times when my wudhu was not propper perhaps? Should I leave this doubt or re-do my Salaah?

Jazkallah Khair and May Allah Reward you InshAllah!

Wassalam

Answer
Waalaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Bismillahir rahmaanir rahim.

Due to lack of knowledge on being a ma’dhur and on discharge causing your wudhu’ to nullify, insha Allah the salah performed during that period of time would be accepted. However, it would be better to make qadhaa of the salah done during that time and during the other times you felt you have made improper wudhu’ to be on the safe side.

In future, you should be more cautious regarding your discharge and performing proper istinja’ before doing ablution and performing salah.

And Allah knows best.

Wassalam.
