Can one fast the 6 Shawwaal fasts before making up missed Ramadhan fasts?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
After the month of Ramadhan, does a man/woman have to make up the fasts that they missed in Ramadhan due to Haydh, illness or any other valid excuse or can he fast the 6 fasts of Shawwaal first before he makes up the missed fasts??

Answer
Bismihi Ta’ala

A person has the choice of whether to keep the Shawwaal fasts first or the missed fasts of Ramadhan.

The six Shawwaal fasts do not have to be kept consecutively and immediately as Shawwaal commences. They may be kept any time during the month. Therefore, it is advisable to first complete the missed fasts of Ramadhan and then keep the Shawwaal fasts.

And Allah knows best.
