Stray thoughts in Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: While performing salaah, sometimes it happens that I cannot concentrate in my Salaah and and I am thinking some thing else like daily incidents related to myself but sometimes it is more severe because I don’t divert my mind but shaitaan diverts my mind in a wrong direction like some thing very dirty. When I realise, I divert my mind from that and concentrate in my Salaah. I am very tensed. How can I recover from this?

Bismillaah

A: Ignore these stray thought. One easy method to acquire khushoo’ in Salaah is that you should absorb your mind in this thought that you are standing before Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) and Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) the Almighty is watching every action of yours. If possible you should learn the meaning of the Surahs you generally recite in your Salaah and at the time of recitation reflect over its meaning.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
