Performing Salaah while sitting due to pain

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am a diabetic. I feel pain in my legs and knee joints very often. Although I am not very old and I can walk easily, but I find it difficult to move up and down during salaah. My question is that if I offer salaah in the sitting position whenever I feel pain, would it be valid?

Bismillaah

A: If standing and performing the Salaah becomes difficult due to the pain, it will be permissible for you to sit and perform the Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
