Can I Stay with My Daughter and Grandkids During Iddat?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am in iddat. My husband passed away on the 11th of October. I am above 65. My daughter has four small kids. Her husband is leaving for a week. She will be alone so can I go and stay there for a week?

Bismillaah

A: In Shari’ah it is impermissible for a woman to leave her home during the iddat period. If you wish, you may ask them to come and stay with you.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
