When should one recite the dua for entering the Musjid?

Q: When should I say the dua for entering the masjid (“Allahoma-ftah lee abwaba Rahmatik”): when entering the entering hall containing the shoe racks etc, or when entering the actual prayer area?

A: When entering the boundary where the Musjid commences.

Q: What is counted as being within the musjid boundries: Is it only the actual prayer area or is it also the entering hall which contains the shoe racks etc?
