Taking an oath that one will never smoke

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If anybody makes a pledge by the name of Allah I will never smoke but he breaks it then what will be the kaffara?

Bismillaah

A: You should sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for breaking your oath and make a firm resolve that you will not repeat this in the future. The Kaffarah for breaking the oath is that you should feed ten poor Muslims with the amount of Sadaqatul fitr as an atonement for breaking the oath. Alternatively you may cloth ten poor people with such clothing wherein Salaah can be performed. If you are unable to do this then you should fast three days consecutively with the intention of atoning for the broken oath.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
