Sitting on a chair and performing Salaah in pregnancy

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My wife is 7 months pregnant. She has tried praying normally but due to excess straining getting up and down she has some kind of discharge which nullifies her salah. She has also tried praying sitting on the floor but again each time she goes into sujood there is discharge. She has also tried standing and then sitting on a chair but again there was discharge. The only way she can pray without any discharge is by sitting on a chair for the complete salaah. Is this ok to do in her circumstance?

Bismillaah

A: If she is a ma’zoor then she should make wudhu at the beginning of the Salaah time and perform her Salaah. The coming out of the discharge will not break her wudhu. For the further details regarding the ma’zoor refer to http://muftionline.co.za/node/1571

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
