Using Tissue Paper During Namaaz: Is It Napaak?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I wanted to know that during namaaz I put tissue paper in my underwear to absorb any kind of urine. So I wanted to know does my body and clothes become napaak or not?

Bismillaah

A: If urine comes out during your salaah then your wudhu and salaah will break. If the urine was absorbed in the tissue and did not touch your clothing then your clothing will not become napaak. The correct procedure is that after making istinjaa, you wait for a little while until you feel satisfied that all the urine drops have come out (e.g. in the tissue) and thereafter you make wudhu and perform your salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
