Marrying a girl whose father is involved in a haraam business

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have a question regarding my brother’s marriage. Is it permissible to marry a girl whose father is doing a business not permissible in Islam (chit fund business)? Her father is also a member in the mosque. We like the girl but only because of her father’s business we are in great distress. Kindly guide us.

Bismillaah

A: He may marry her and avoid taking any gifts from her father.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
