Refusing Gifts: When Saying ‘No’ Counts

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is this also considered as refusing a gift? When a person informs the person in advance who wants to give a gift that please don’t bring any gift we will not receive it?

A: If the person seems to be a doubtful character then it is permissible to reject it because of his character being doubtful.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
