Q: Is there any virtue in keeping a childs name maryam?
A: The Hadith teaches us to keep the names of Ambiya and pious predecessors (e.g. Sahaabah). Hence keeping the name maryam is a good name as it was the name of the mother of Hazrat Isa (Alayhis Salaam).
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
