Repeatedly committing a sin

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I wanted to ask I often backbite about my father and so I understand I give away my good deeds. My question is if I ask forgiveness and he forgives me will I get my good deeds back or not?

A: A person who repeatedly commits a sin is in a very dangerous position. Sometimes you may lose all your rewards on account of persisting.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
