My Istikhara Experience: White Trousers, Black Jacket, and a Broken Heart

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I was making istikhara for marriage to someone. I saw him wearing white trousers and black jacket sitting with a group of unknown people. I walked in recognised him and I smiled at him. Few days prior praying istikhara I saw both me and him in wedding outfits initially separate then together in my living room. In real life we are no longer together as I did not want to continue in haraam relationship. He said he wanted marriage but is living unhappily with another.

A: A girl should not embark on nikaah independently. Instead she should consult her parents.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
