Q: We have many transgenders among us. Though they have male features, they still prefer to dress themselves as women and due to this, they are being subjected to all sorts of humiliation in our society. Does Islam classify them as males or females? Is there any Qur’anic Ayat or Sahih Hadith mentioning them?
A: If they have male features then it is haraam for them to dress and behave like women. Such people are cursed. Hence, society will also humiliate them.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
