Calculating Fajr time when one is travelling on a ship

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I will be sailing on a ship from Cape Town to Sydney in Australia. Since I will be losing time going East. How can I calculate the time for Fajr?

A: You should calculate your namaaz times according to the time zones that you are passing through and perform your namaaz accordingly. Hence, you would not have missed out any namaaz. It will just be that you will be performing your namaaz in shorter intervals.

You will perform your fajr once the time of subah saadiq sets in.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
