Positive Istikhara Dream: Climbing a Wall with Buddhist Monks

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I made istikhara about whether a boy was right for me and it was meant for us to get married. My dream was as follows: I dreamt of 2 white men dressed like Buddhist monks approaching a big wall they needed to climb in order to enter a city, whilst climbing the wall they disappeared all of a sudden and I was climbing the wall, and thought that I was going to fall,I was holding onto some bodies leg but don’t know who’s, until I realised that I’m standing firm on the ground and that I am safe, I woke up after that. I am not sure if the dream even has any significance. But for the entire day, I have been feeling confident and happy and nothing could bring me down, not happy like on a normal day, but unusually happy. Was my istikhara positive?

A: We advise that you do not rely entirely on the dream, instead before entering into nikaah enquiries should be made regarding the boy and the family of the boy. Similarly one should look at the piety, behaviour, conduct and mannerisms of the boy before entering into nikaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
