Can Small Habits Really Lead to Poverty?

Q: My mum is always telling us about things that brings about poverty. Eg: looking at shoes that are turned up; leaving dishes unwashed in the basin and the list is endless. Is there any truth in this?

A: These things are nothing but superstition and superstition has no basis in Shari’ah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
