Paying the remaining dowry after divorce

Q: I was married but found out the woman had a boyfriend during and before my nikah. Do I still have to pay the remaining dowry even though I have divorced her?

A: Yes.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال أيما امرأة نكحت بغير إذن وليها فنكاحها باطل فنكاحها باطل فنكاحها باطل فإن دخل بها فلها المهر بما استحل من فرجها فإن اشتجروا فالسلطان ولي من لا ولي له (الترمذي رقم 1102)
