Istinjaa whilst fasting

Q: Can you provide guidelines how to perform istinja whilst fasting in a way that prevents water from entering and breaking the fast?

A: In the state of fasting, if water enters the anal passage (through inserting one’s moist finger) and the water reaches the point where the enema is inserted then the fast will break. This point is approximately five to six inches. Generally the water will not reach this point while making istinja.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
