Q: Is it permissible to do face painting etc for children?
A: The face is a ni’mat (bounty) of Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى). Since painting the face is disfiguring this ni’mat, it is impermissible in Shari’ah. Apart from this, this action resembles the ways of the kuffaar. Hence, one should refrain from face painting even if it is done for fun with small children.
And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
