Revert’s Struggle with Islamic Beliefs on Jannat: Seeking Mufti Sahb’s Advice

Q: My sister-in-law is a revert. She accepted Islam but because she can’t accept that in jannat the males will have many hoors to have relations with so now she feels that this is injustice and she wants to go back to christianity! If mufti sahb can please advise on how to remedy the situation.

A: The woman making this the basis for forsaking Islam (If she really accepted Islam) reveals the extreme weakness in belief and faith in Allah Ta’ala. As long as one is not prepared to subject his/her entire life (actions, understanding, sentiments and emotions) before the command of Allah Ta’ala and be pleased with the shari’ah (divine system of Allah Ta’ala), any amount of logical explanation will not entirely convince the person. Perhaps if he/she is convinced in a certain issue through some logical explanation, however on account of the basic beliefs and foundational precepts of Islam being weak and unstable, the person will start finding faults with other aspects of Islam. Hence, this will be a long drawn battle to try to keep the person in Islam. Furthermore, if one has to view this objection closely then one would understand that the woman is contradicting herself. On one hand if she accepts that there is a thing called jannat which is reserved only for believers after death then by accepting Christianity how does she wish to reach paradise since Christians will be dispatched to hell.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
