Intending Safr Distance Travel: Making the Safr Intention

Q: If a person intended to travel to a certain town and thinking it to be safr he makes intention of safr. However when he reaches there he notices that the distance is less than safr. Will he still be a musaafir?

A: If a person intends travelling to a town which is less than safr distance even though at the time of travelling he makes the intention that he is a musaafir, since the town he intends travelling to is less than safr distance, he will not be a musaafir.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
