Q: What is the virtue regarding when a person passes away then they place a piece of the kabah cloth in the kafn of a deceased?

A: There is no special virtue reported in the Quran and Hadith with regards to placing a piece of the Ka’bah Shareef in the grave with the deceased. Furthermore, if there is any name of Allah Ta’ala or verse of the Qur’an Shareef written on it, then placing the cloth with the deceased in the grave will be impermissible.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.

وقد أفتى ابن الصلاح بأنه لا يجوز أن يكتب على الكفن يس والكهف وغيرهما خوفا من صديد الميت والقياس المذكور ممنوع لأن القصد ثم التمييز وهنا التبرك فالأسماء المعظمة باقية على حالها فلا يجوز تعريضها للنجاسة والقول بأنه يطلب فعله مردود لأن مثل ذلك لا يحتج به إلا إذا صح عن النبي طلب ذلك وليس كذلك اه وقدمنا قبيل باب المياه عن الفتح أنه تكره كتابة القرآن وأسماء الله تعالى على الدراهم والمحاريب والجدران وما يفرش وما ذاك إلا لاحترامه وخشية وطئه ونحوه مما فيه إهانة فالمنع هنا بالأولى ما لم يثبت عن المجتهد أو ينقل فيه حديث ثابت فتأمل نعم نقل بعض المحشين عن فوائد الشرجي أن مما يكتب على جبهة الميت بغير مداد بالأصبع المسبحة { بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم } وعلى الصدر لا إله الله محمد رسول الله وذلك بعد الغسل قبل التكفين اه والله أعلم (رد المحتار 2/246)
