Make purdah from the husband

Q: My wife is overweight so she conceals her body from me. We do not stay with my or her parents. Is she allowed to make purdah from me? I am the husband.

Bismillaah

A: There is no purdah required between husband and wife.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.

 أما النظر إلى زوجته ومملوكته فهو حلال من قرنها إلى قدمها عن شهوة وغير شهوة وهذا ظاهر إلا أن الأولى أن لا ينظر كل واحد منهما إلى عورة صاحبه كذا في الذخيرة (الفتاوى الهندية 5/ 327)
