Sunnah of cutting the hair of head

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the Sunnah of cutting the hair of the head?

Bismillaah

A: Rasulullah’s (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) mubaarak hair used to be at times till his earlobes and at times below the earlobe. He had shaved off his hair at the times of Umrah and Hajj only. It is permissible to cut the hair. The preferable way is to start of at the right side. It is also compulsory that one cut the hair evenly from all sides.
