Eating from a Masjid’s Fruit Tree: What to Do?

Q: If a fruit-bearing tree was for the income of the masjid and one ate of it then what should be done?

Bismillaah

A: One should give the value of the fruit eaten to the mutawalli (trustee) of the masjid.

غرس فى المسجد أشجاراً تثمر إن غرس للسبيل فلكل مسلم الأكل وإلّا فتباع لمصالح المسجد (الدر المختار مع رد المحتار 4/432)
