Applying Mehndhi of the Dargah for Marriage Proposals

Q: People give mehndhi of the dargah to a girl who is not receiving proposals for marriage. They say she must perform two rakaats Salaah before applying it. Is this shirk?

A: Applying mehndhi of the dargah for marriage proposals as well as reading two rakaat salaah for marriage proposals is a baseless practice. Hence one should refrain from this practice. However Salaatul haajat can be performed for any need.
