Understanding Menstrual Cycle Irregularities: Fasting and Salaah Dilemma

Q: A lady ended her haidth on the 8th day of her cycle. After 4 days she began to bleed again. The bleeding has now lapsed into the 15th day, is this considered haidth or istihadah and should she keep fasting and reading Salaah?

A: If the bleeding exceeded her monthly cycle and surpassed ten days, then the bleeding after the monthly cycle will be regarded as istihaadha. Hence, she should keep fast and perform her salaah.
