Lineage of a child conceived before nikaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I did zina with a girl and she is now pregnant. We are getting married now. Will the baby be halaal or not after nikaah?

Bismillaah

A: If the child is born six months or more from the date of the nikaah, then the child will be regarded as legitimate. However, if the child is born less than six months from the date of the nikaah, the child will be regarded as illegitimate. An illegitimate child will only be attributed to the mother and will only inherit from the mother.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
