Is assisting a needy Muslim better than nafl hajj or umrah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: After one has performed fardh hajj, which is better, performing umrah/nafil hajj or helping a poor and needy person?

Bismillaah

A: All these are virtuous deeds. If one is able to fulfill all then this is good. However, if one is only able to do one, then assisting a believer in difficulty is extremely rewarding and even greater than nafil hajj or nafil umrah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
