Should I Skip the Salaam in My Fajr Reminder?

Q: I have been advised to omit the salaam when sending out a wake up for fajr reminder. The sender says those who do not respond will be deemed to be sinful. Kindly advise. 

Bismillaah

A: Replying to a salaam is compulsory, unless it is a verbal recorded message.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
