Wearing one shoe and walking

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the explanation of this hadith:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “None of you should walk in one shoe. Remove both or wear both”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5856 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2097).

Bismillaah

A: The hadeeth meaning is apparent. Obviously it does not appear right with just wearing one shoe. Similarly wearing one shoe perhaps will create a type of an imbalance as well.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
