Telling one’s wife “You are my mother or you are my sister”

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a husband tells his wife, “you are my mother, you are my sister or my mother, my sister” without intending zihaar, what will happen?

Bismillaah

A: It does not affect the nikaah. However, it is not appropriate to use these types of words.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
