Performing a secret nikaah to avoid zina

Q: In our society, the culture of late marriages is prevalent nowadays. The zina has become easy nowadays. Now my question is, if a mature Muslim boy and girl does nikaah in privacy, is that nikah valid?

Bismillaah

A: If the boy is of the same social standing as the girl and the nikaah is performed in the presence of two adult male Muslim witnesses then the nikaah will be valid, though it is greatly discouraged.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
