Revoking the talaaq during the iddah period

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a man gave talaq to his wife and they reconcile during the iddah period, does the talaq fall away? I was told by one Moulana that if they reconcile during the iddah period, the talaq falls away. Its called extreme compassion from shariah.

Bismillaah

A: If he has given one or two raj`ee talaaqs (revocable) then the divorce will fall away.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
