Guidelines for someone doing hifz

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I’m dong hifz and I would like to know if there is anything specific I should do or if there is anything specific I shouldn’t do. Also, is there anything I can read to make it easier to learn my Quran?

Bismillaah

A: Ensure that you perform your five daily salaah on their prescribed times and observe strict pardah with all non mahrams. Refrain from areas of doubt and sin and commit yourself to following the mubaarak sunnah in all facets of your life. Constantly remain in pious company and protect your eyes, ears, tongue and heart at all times from committing sins. After salaah make istigfaar for a little while and thereafter beg Allah Ta’ala to bless you with His love, the love of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and the love of the quraan and sunnah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
