I go to the gym and they play music there. So I listen to tilawat in a loud voice in my headphones to avoid the music. Is it a correct thing ?

The gym itself is not a right place for muslims to be. The same gymming can be done at home. Get an instructor to teach you what to do, and do it in the privacy of your home.
