Janaazah salaah for a person who committed suicide

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the ruling for performing Janaaza Salaah for a person that has committed suicide and is it permissible to attend a khattam-e-Quran on behalf of the deceased at the Masjid?

Bismillaah

A: Janaaza salaah should be performed.

Congregating in the musjid for this purpose is not established in the Hadith. Hence, people should recite in their own time and convey the reward of their recitation to the deceased.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
