Charity event for cancer patients

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: We hosting a charity event to raise money for cancer. A person would like to donate sadaqa money, can we use it? If yes, what are the do’s and don’ts?

Bismillaah

A: Yes it is permissible. Since the money is being collected for the benefit of cancer patients, the money should be spent on the cancer patients and for their benefit. The money should not be spent in any other avenue as it is against the purpose for which the donors have donated the money.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
