Forgetting to make wudhu during ghusal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I had taken ghusl and washed my whole body, but I forgot to do wudhu and offered jumuah salaah. Is the ghusl sufficient for wudhu or will I have to repeat my prayer?

Bismillaah

A: Making wudu at the beginning of the ghusal is sunnah. However, if one had forgotten to make wudu and completed all the fard acts of ghusal, the ghusal will be valid and one will become paak. One will be able to perform salaah thereafter. Hence, if you washed your entire body, gargled your mouth and inserted water in your nose, your ghusal is valid and the salaah performed thereafter will also be valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
