Q: I have read up in different fiqh kitaabs in Madrassah regarding selling that which is najis and non maal, for example renting out the male horse for mating with the opposite side female. In todays time we find that leeway has been given for items which people regard as maal but also fit the category of being najis, for example fertilizer. My question is that in todays time we find that its common that people don’t rent out the entire animal but purchase the males sperm in a straw to impregnate their animals. I would like to understand the difference between allowed to sell certain items which are najis and the impermissibility on selling others.
A: To buy and sell the sperm is impermissible.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
