The Kaffara of My Qasam: Expectations and Disappointments in Marriage

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: After certain disappointments, I told my husband that I make qasam by Allah that I won’t expect anything from you in future. However, I do expect things from him. What is the kaffara of my qasam?

Bismillaah

A: The kaffaarah for breaking an oath is that one will feed ten poor people two meals each, or give each one of them the equivalent of sadaqatul fitr or clothe each one of them.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
