Q: 3 weeks ago my husband and I had a big fight. He canceled our apartment and he left. I was mad that I told him to divorce me and he refused. I told him that I had met someone and I want divorce. He got really mad and he said you divorce 2 time. I was lying when I said I met someone. Now he regret saying the divorce and he wants to fix our marriage. My question is the 2 talaq record? And how we can fix our marriage.
A: If he only issued two talaaqs and prior to this he did not issue any other divorce, then two talaaqs have taken place and your iddat has commenced. If your husband revokes the talaaq during the iddat period then you will remain his wife . However, if he does not revoke the talaaq and the iddat period passes, then it will still be two talaaqs but you will come out of his nikaah. Thereafter if you both wish to reunite , a new nikaah will have to be performed with a new mahr.
