Q: I am assisting the general public in cutting and skinning the sheep as they do not have any facilities as well as many do not know how to make the slaughter.
A farmer that collects skins for the tannery is prepared to collect the skins and after it has been sorted and graded at the tannery, they will then pay us some cash value of the skins.
Question: Can I donate the proceeds to a Musjid?
Are the proceeds classified as Lillah which could be used for renovations to the Musjid or are the proceeds deemed zakat in which case it can be used to feed the poor?
A: It is not permissible to donate the proceeds of the Qurbaani skins for the renovation of the Masjid. The proceeds will have to be given in charity to the poor.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
و يستحب أن يأكل من أضحيته و يطعم منها غيره و الأفضل أن يتصدق بالثلث و يتخذ الثلث ضيافة لأقاربه و أصدقائه و يدخر الثلث و يطعم الغني و الفقير جميعا (الهندية 5/300)
ويتصدق بجلدها أو يعمل منه نحو غربال وجراب و لا بأس بان يشترى به ما ينتفع بعينه مع بقائه استحسانا و ذلك مثل ما ذكرنا و لا يشترى به ما لا ينتفع به الا بعد الاستهلاك نحو اللحم و الطعام و لا يبيعه بالدراهم لينفق الدراهم على نفسه و عياله و اللحم بمنزلة الجلد فى الصحيح حتى لا يبيعه بما لا ينتفع به الا بعد الاستهلاك ولو باعها بالدراهم ليتصدق بها جاز لانها قربة كالتصدق كذا فى التبيين و هكذا فى الهداية و الكافى. (الفتاوى الهندية 5/301)
( ويأكل من لحم الأضحية ويؤكل غنيا ويدخر وندب أن لا ينقص التصدق عن الثلث )… ويتصدق بجلدها أو يعمل نحو غربال وجراب وقربة وسفرة ودلو (الدر المختار 6/327-328)
