Using work facilities for one’s personal work

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have made my bio-data, salary voucher, experience letter etc in my previous office and I have NOT taken permission from my boss for making and taking it. I have used the office printer, computer, internet, paper and other things for printing these documents. While doing this I was aware that it might be haraam. I have taken the prints/hardcopies with me and scanned copies in my mail and mobile without telling or asking my boss.

Can I use these documents (my bio-data, and all the other documents made and taken without permission), for any interviews, jobs or even any other work in future. If I do so, will my job, the income from this job or any other benefit or anything I get because of it , will all this be Haraam-especially my income? Will my prayers be accepted after eating my food earned by such income?

Bismillaah

A: Under some pretext pay the old boss for using his equipment and paper etc.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
